The Colorado Rockies return home with black and purple bruises hidden only by their uniforms. A nine game 2-7 road trip mercifully ended, with five games swept by the American League Boston Red Sox and Toronto Bluejays. With 17 games between the Rockies and the All-Star Break, a strong seven-game home stand and passable ten-game road trip could keep the team in contention in the National League West. History Shows Downside to Denver Nuggets’ Coach Brian Shaw

Boston Sports Fans Reign of Terror is Officially Over
It took only 17 seconds, but it ended with Boston fans being a reminded that they are a little too prone to choking. For a town synonymous with Bill Buckner, Boston sports has been a little too prosperous in the championship category. Since the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl in 2001, the football team has three championships; the Boston Red Sox have won two, while the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics both grabbed a title. Miami Heat-San Antonio Spurs, the Reality of NBA Finals Game 7
After tonight, the 2013 NBA Champion will forever be engrained in history as either the San Antonio Spurs or the Miami Heat. The collective memory will remember the heroes on the side of the victor and the feats of the losing team will fade. In the Hall of Fame someday, this series will be seen as either Tim Duncan’s (presumed) final triumph or a key stepping stone in LeBron James’ quest to end up on the list of all-time stars. Colorado Avalanche Make Right Move Passing on Seth Jones
Colorado Avalanche Vice President Joe Sakic announced that the team will pass on Seth Jones with the NHL Draft’s first overall pick and instead elect to pick a forward, probably Nathan MacKinnon, Jonathan Drouin or Alexander Barkov. While Seth Jones, a defenseman with strong Colorado ties, had been projected as the number one choice, MacKinnon is likely the man who lured the Avalanche away and for good reason. Off the Post: Miami Heat Fans Promised Pizza Party with Re-Entry
With the Lebron James Miami Heat’s come from behind victory over the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals game six (referee endorsed), much has been made about the fans who tried to re-enter the building when the comeback was in progress. While NBA Commissioner David Stern had a bodyguard (Shaquille O’Neal) keeping Tony Parker and Tim Duncan on the bench, fans were clamoring to see the Heat’s comeback. However, there was a more important reason fans were jumping over each other like it was a 1970’s concert to enter the arena.
