In comparing the two Kroenke-owned Pepsi Center franchises, Andre Miller fills the same role on the Denver Nuggets as J.S. Giguere occupies on the Colorado Avalanche. Both players backup key positions, provide experience and are veteran voices in the locker room. Additionally, Giguere and Miller both suddenly find themselves at odds with their first year coaches and could soon be looking for houses in other cities. In football, the phrase is “run out the clock”, not “pass out the clock.” Pass out the clock sounds exhausting, time consuming and perhaps includes poor decision-making and intoxication. Unmasking Semyon Varlamov, His Accuser and the Colorado Avalanche
In the past week, both Colorado Avalanche coach Patrick Roy and center Matt Duchene have talked about the adversity a hockey team faces over the course of the season. Before Semyon Varlamov’s arrest, the Avs biggest adversity this season stemmed from a second period deficit against the Winnipeg Jets in a game that the Avalanche ultimately won. After the goaltender’s arrest for domestic violence, adversity has a new sticking point for a team that has won ten out of their first eleven games. Denver Broncos Peyton Manning Better Than Ever After Philosophy Shift
Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has reached the point in his career where a nostalgic gleam, an old fashion glow, a hope for the old days should greet his appearance on the field. Maybe John Elway was able to lead the Broncos at the end of his career to Super Bowls, but outside of the Comeback Kid himself, age is a number that matters in the NFL. However, the early returns on Peyton Manning are breathtaking, rather than nostalgic.

Todd Helton, The Colorado Rockies Last Great Cowboy
Todd Helton could have as easily gone down as the last great cowboy of the west instead of the greatest Colorado Rockies player of all time. Yes, he loves the outdoor hunting and ranch life, but it’s more in the way he carries himself. Helton’s patience at the plate is similar to that of a great leading man in a western taking his time, serving as the shadow of the law.
